No Sew Laundry Bag

Whenever I am traveling I am pretty good at remember everything ( thanks to many lists) but I seem to always forget something to bring our dirty laundry home.
We live about 3 hours from both sets of parents so weekend trips happen fairly often.
On late Sunday nights getting back its so much easier to just throw a bag full of clothes next to the washer than try and sort through everyones things in a suitcase figuring out what is clean.
So I decided to make one of these little laundry bags for myself and my Mom
( she also tends to forget something for dirty clothes and always ends up using a trash bag ).

Super easy- what you need:

Vintage Pillow Case
Rivits and hammer
Cording/ Rope/ Ribbon - whatever you want to use to tie it up.

I used 10 rivets around the top edge and looped the roping through. I also sewed the bottom to square it off a bit to help with stability but you don't have to.

Thats it! It actually holds quite a bit. Perfect for a weekend away!

Valentines Day Skirt and Scarf

Dressing the kids is one of my favorite things.
I love childrens fashion.
Holidays are no different.
Actually they will probably need therapy for how much I coordinate dress our family.
 Oh well.

I love sending B in a holiday outfit to school when she has parties. It makes it that much more fun. However, the cost for a one time wear shirt is a little much. This year I did something a little different. My friend Danielle over at Little Pink Peony  sent B this heart infinity scarf for her birthday.
WE love it. :)

I made her this skirt from Make it and Love it to match - super easy and quick.
Plus its all stuff she will wear again because its not over the top "Valentines Day."
Win Win.

Her cards from her Grandparents...

And of course little man in his Valentines Day gear. Love that smooshy face.

Baby Gift Basket

Do you ever volunteer to do something then later wonder what you were thinking?
That was me a few weeks ago.
In December I volunteered to make a gender neutral baby gift basket for Bristol's school silent auction. Sure, a few burp cloths, bibs, binkie clip- Done.
I forgot that when it was due I would be 7- almost 8 -months pregnant, trying to get US ready for baby number 3, prepare for Boden's birthday, and getting our house ready to put on the market.
Whew.

Well I pulled myself together and made this gift basket filled with burp cloths, bibs, a binkie clip, and a "Mommy" key chain.

I used yellow ( boring) and gray- mostly because I ran out of time to get to the fabric store and find something more exciting.
Hopefully it helps buy a new book or something. :)

January in Review...

So unless you are my Mom, Matt's Mom, or another long distance family member this post will probably bore you to pieces. Feel free to catch me next time with a few recent craft projects.
:)

Okay...

January for us was kinda low-key. We needed it after the craziness of the holidays.

B started her new school ( which she LOVES- music class especially.) She seems to have grown up again. Her understanding of things, stories, and pretend play are all much more complicated and funny! Also, her Halloween costume ( the one I had to pin for her to walk in) was too short tonight and had to be let out.
Sad.
I love watching her change and grow but its also bitter sweet. She is a great big sister and is teaching Boden how to pick up - which I love. :) We are so lucky to have her in our family.

Boden decided to actually crawl instead of army crawl everywhere this month. He is calling Matt "Da-Da" more instead of "Matt" ha. He loves playing with B and is so cuddly. He really brightens all our days and is the first one we all love to say good morning to.
( Probably because we have no choice in that he is up at 5:15 everyday ha)

I was able to work on a few projects for myself and the kids. Matt and I are working to finish up the nursery before April. :) Hard to believe that in less than 90 days Baby Brooklyn will be here!

Well thats about it. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from this past month...
