When we bought our house this bathroom needed help. Our master bathroom needs to be gutted so this one was the easier of the two to get re-modeled- thus its gotten done first. ( Plus its the one everyone uses when they come to stay with us)
Here is the "before" - yikes. When that morning sun hit that yellow... wow.
Im kicking myself now for not taking better, up close before pictures... but Im sure you get the idea.
To update it we have:
Put in new flooring
Painted the vanity
Painted the counter top
Painted the walls and linen closet
Put in a new toilet
* To finish we have to add- register covers, final coat on vanity, new lighting, frame around the mirror
I saw this color combination on HGTV one day and loved it. I think its a good mixture of fun for Bristol and still manageable for our guests.
( As cute as rubber ducks are, they just aren't something I can handle at 5:30am every morning)
I decided ( after noticing how much B loves books ) to do a sort of Dr. Seuss theme.
Nothing over the top but little touches here and there....
My first project: Her step stool.
I found this blank, wooden step stool at GW for $1.99.
( I really do shop other places besides GW... just for craft projects they have some great stuff, cheap!)
It needs something more but Im not sure what yet...
I painted it red ( the same red as the stripe) and used permeant marker to write on it. ( You could use vinyl letters too) To help protect the letters I sprayed a clear coat of sealer on the whole bench.
I used the Dr. Seuss quote
" A persons a person, no matter how small"
Thats its. Pretty easy and I know it will get lots of use!
We are hoping to complete the final touches in the next few weeks... so Ill re post when its all done!

That stool is adorable. Love the quote, how perfect!!
ReplyDeleteI would totally take a yellow bathroom over the teal bathroom that we had when we moved in. It was so bad. It made a grown man scream!
ReplyDeleteI love what you have done with your bathroom. So cute, yet so sophisticated.
