Im not one for having kids art plastering every inch of my house. Don't get my wrong, I think its cute and I know they work hard on it but I think it deserves a special place for them to display it.
Now before you all decide I am the worst Mom ever maybe I can redeem myself.
I love art that incorporates kids fingerprints or hands. Maybe because they don't stay small long and its nice to look at and see how they have grown... I don't know but whatever the reason I smile whenever I see these little works of art.
Last spring for Easter I did thumb print bunnies and hope to do more with each season.

my hubby's turning 30 this fall too. seems like summer went too fast thought. love all your ideas for hand art. we've done lots of it at our house...so fun :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do this with my nephew for his parents..... Do you know what paint would be best?
ReplyDeleteI would say any washable tempera paint. Easier for clean up. :) You can also buy a clear sealing spray to put over it to prevent running/ fading etc. :) All this you can get at JoAnn fabrics or somewhere like Michael's/ AC Moore. Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteWe recently did the Christmas tree craft. We used RoseArt finger paints for the hand prints, a large gold sequin star, and Crayola crayons for the tree trunk. I plastered the entire 11x14 poster board with Mod Podge once the paints were dry and then framed it so we can hang this up for years to come. Very inexpensive craft for my almost 4 y/o daughter! Love it!
