Baby Tie Dye

We are in the home stretch with about three weeks to go...
Im starting to run out of energy so most things if they aren't done yet its an " Oh well not that important."

I pulled out some onesies that were Bristol's thinking they were still in good shape.
Apparently I was looking at them in the dark or  was overly tired when I packed them away because they were stained all around the collar from B.
Yum.
I decided to have a fun art project with B and try tie dying them because really who would know then that they were second time around onesies?

Just for a heads up... tie dying is much more of an older kid project and not so much a two year old project ha. But we made it through and got some super cute little onesies and burp clothes little man can sport.

I was able to save about 6 onesies and got a package of the plain white cloth diapers for the burp clothes.
When tie dye is this small how can it not be adorable?!

Pretty sure gray is my new favorite color. I love it lately! Is that strange??
Ill blame it on pregnancy hormones.

Bristol's Quiet Book

Ahhh Bristol's Quiet Book.
A few months ago I had the brilliant ( insert eye roll here) idea to make B a quiet book for when the baby is born.
She found mine from when I was little and loved it so I thought- oh great idea!
At the time I had a lot more guilt about adding another person to take attention away from her, more energy, and LOTS more patience.
I researched blogs and Pinterest for page ideas and simple "how -tos" then drew up my plans.

Here is the end result.

I used vintage sheets for the cover and pages - I love the soft, girly look to it.

Soft, texture lion...

Counting carrots and tying shoes...

I spy fish bowl and mail for Bristol...

Telling time and matching colors...

Tic Tac Toe and counting to 10 with beads...

Its not perfect by any means but it was made with the last remaining patience I had left and lots of love. I hope she enjoys it and it softens the blow of a little brother.

Bristol's Kitchen

When B was about a year old I came on a yard sale ending for the day giving away a wooden kitchen. It was pretty sad and had been used outside in a sandbox.

( Insert mental picture of ugly brown kitchen with cracked knobs, covered in sand since I cant find my "before" picture)

BUT I felt we could bring it back to life.
Fast forward a year and we started to re-do it but it really wasn't coming together how I wanted.
So I enlisted the help of Matt and Bristol's Uncle Mike ( he built the fridge) to make her kitchen  awesome. With a suggestion from my friend Sarah we added a spice rack. Then we added hooks for pot holders, made the front of her fridge magnetic, and put on a real faucet unit.
She loves it... and so do I! :)
She keeps asking Matt to fix the water ha.

The banner I got on sale at JoAnn Fabrics - part of the Martha Stewart Party collection and the chalkboard came from Target Dollar Spot.

Most of Bristol's play food is Melissa and Doug which I would highly recommend. She loves it and its very durable.

For the last few days B was up in Maine visiting her Grandparents. It was great to get some last minute projects done and have some one on one time with Matt before baby # 2 arrives.
We were very happy to get her back though.
Last night we stayed up late playing dress up and eating snacks.
Happy to all be together again.

Baby Sleeping Mail Man Jim!

We have the grumpiest mailman you will ever meet.
He makes me laugh with his grumpy comments but is really a very nice man.
For example; instead of making me come to the post office to pick up a package if he misses us or leaving a box in the snow and rain he finds places around our house to "hide" it.
We have found treasures under a canoe, in Bristol's sandbox table, and in our car.
He always leaves leaves a note telling me where he "hid" the package going way out of his way.
His only downfall is he comes EVERYDAY at nap time and rings the doorbell.
Usually I can catch him before he does but the doorbell leads to our dog barking which can lead to B waking up.
Ahhh the life of an online shopper. :)

I decided with a new baby coming I needed to make a sign to alert Mr. Jim to please not ring the doorbell.

I found this wooden plaque at Michael's for $1.99 and had Matt drill two little holes on either side.

I painted it red to match the outside of our house...

in the process emptied almost an entire bottle of paint  on the plaque.
Ops. So it got a few extra coats...

After the red dried I painted the main part with chalkboard paint. This way I can write whatever I want.

Knock Please
Baby Sleeping
Go Away - kidding.
Outback

Whatever we want. :)

Add a little twine and its ready to go whenever little ones are sleeping. :)

On another note we are still on the mend here... when B feels sick she likes to wear her Ariel Pjs and fairy wings...

Watch WAY too much Curious George with her buddy Gage...

and play pathetic in order to get treats out of Mommy. :)

Hope you all are staying healthy and warm!

Valentines

Bristol and I are spending this Valentines Day snuggled on the couch by the fire watching lots of Curious George.
She has a nasty cold and I have been told to take it easy so little man can enjoy my bladder as a trampoline just a little longer.

I dont have any pictures from this year but we took these last Valentines Day... I love looking back and seeing how much B has changed! :)

Hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating your loves!

Maternity Pictures

When I was pregnant with Bristol we had maternity pictures done.
This time around I was feeling more tired, frumpy, and really not in the mood to have pictures done.
Matt had brought it up a few times and I gave him a "We'll See" knowing this baby would be born before I got around to it.
A while back I asked one of my best friends to take pictures for us when the new baby arrives - she said yes but we had to do a maternity shoot as well.
Hmmm. Ok.
I am SOOOO glad that Matt and Jennilee pushed me to have it done.
We got some great pictures that I am thrilled with - plus fair is fair- both kids have pictures to see what I looked like ( for better or worse) pregnant with them.
Thank you Jenni! Here are just a few of my many favorites!  :)

I love how their is such a variety. Check out Jennilee's photography blog to see more great photos!
