Boden's Nursrey

So Boden is two weeks old now and his room still ins't quite done ha. Im pretty sure Bristol's room was done by the time I was 6 months pregnant! I blame it on I had more time to focus on things like decorating instead of raising a two year old.
I wanted a room that was boyish but still babyish.
And a bit original.

I am still waiting on cushions for the rocker to arrive and to find the perfect curtains.
Its almost there though. :)

In other exciting news the dreaded belly button FINALLY fell off so Boden was able to take his first bath...

He was clearly impressed with the bathing experience.

Mr. Boden

Boden made his entrance Friday evening.
All 6.9 lbs and 19 inches of him.
I went in for a Doctors appointment Friday afternoon and my Doctor took pity on me and said
 "Lets have this baby tonight."
I was both ecstatic and terrified.
I instantly started shaking and trying not to cry ha.
5 hours later here we are... us and an IV drip of pain medication.

I was able to stop having a panic attack/ sobbing hysterically to take a decent picture with my new guy.
Bristol really is doing awesome with him. She loves to hold his hand and is very gentle. <3

We will be back soon with some projects, his nursery, and life with TWO children. :)

Meaningful Art.

If I had to describe Bristol in one word it would be fierce.
She is independent, strong willed, funny, smart, sensitive, observant...
and she does all these TO THE MAX.

By the time she was 18 months old I had already ordered and read most of " Raising the Strong Willed Child" cause I knew we were in for it. :) Somedays I have lots of patience with her... somedays not so much.

Last fall around the time she turned 2 she was out in our yard playing while Matt was doing some work. Pretty soon Matt heard her yelling and pointing at something on the ground. At first he thought it was a squirrel/ frog/ dog poop- the usual things she draws our attention to.
As he got closer he could hear her saying "A heart! A heart!" over and over.
He looked into the woods and sure enough laying on the ground was this rock shaped as a perfect heart.
This was the first shape B learned and recognized.

He kept it and I decided to make some meaningful art out of it for our bedroom.
A reminder to be patient every morning as I leave our room.

Dancing with Daddy.

Bristol goes through movie phases every few weeks/ months.
So far we have been obsessed with " The Little Mermaid", "Mary Poppins", " 101 Dalmations" and currently " Sleeping Beauty."
Curious George is the constant. We love him.
Her favorite thing to do now when Matt gets home is make him dance with her around the living room like Princess Aurora.

even though he has been up and going since 5 am he always obliges. :)

Argyle Sweater Re-Fashion.

"Im not cold..."

My Mom had given me a sweater she no longer wore a while back. I got the chance to wear it a few times before my lovely washer shrunk it.
I loved the print so I hung on to it thinking I might make something for B out of it.
Well the other day I came across it and decided to try making a hat for her.
Then came the sweater vest...
then the leg warmers...
This an entire outfit out of one sweater.
 Not bad.

Cause why not dig in the dirt in a BEIGE new outfit?!

I made the hat from this idea on Make It and Love It.
Then I cut the arms off, traced around a current shirt, and hemmed the arm holes and bottom.
The collar I didn't touch because B has kinda a big head ( for all those brains) and with the sweater shrinking made it extra small.

I used the arms to make leg warmers since its still a little cold here for just tights. I added some bows to dress it up a little. :)

Easy re-fashion in 1/2 a hour.

Oh and Happy March 1st to us... a foot of snow ha.
